"Flo" is the face of Progressive Casualty Insurance on TV. You may recognize her, here:
(photo, Wikipedia)She's cute and all, and I'm glad she has a cool job as a spokesperson with a nice paycheck, I imagine; lots of actors and other "personalities" do it...
But you should know that if you buy Progressive Insurance, you are (1) putting money into Democratic politics (which you may or may not support) including toward the Obama campaign, via Peter B. Lewis, Progressive's Chairman of the Board, BFF of George Soros (two links, two views), (2) supporting both domestic and international gun control, thanks to Mr. Soros, and (3) supporting drug deregulation, again thanks to Mr. Soros.
Discovering the Networks is a Web site that exposes the connections between activists on the left end of the political spectrum and sources of $$$ on the left: millionaires and billionaires.
Mr. Soros sponsors Media Matters for America and various other pet projects through his Open Society Foundation, like anti-gun measures worldwide. Granted, he is doing what anyone has the right to do: influence political action. It's a lot easier for him to do because he's a billionaire, and he has a vast staff who can mobilize forces on his behalf. He can also afford to lobby Congress and attempt to influence the U.N., which tries from time to time to ban guns around the globe.
Hope that this is information you can use, before you call Progressive because Flo batted her long eyelashes at you.
